Known plugins and theme issues

wp-grins plugin will not work if the jslide featured articles are active. If you want to used the wp-grins, you can choose to turn off the featured article by selecting the “choose a category” and save the theme options or simply reset the options.

Since last couple of theme release, i have been receiving emails about if the used of the 125 x 125 ad space is allowed? and yes you can input your own ad banner there without worrying.

Another month gones by and here i present another free wordpress theme for all wordpress tech geek out there..well so to speak, the theme were more focusing on tech, mobile or gadget theme

What should you know about the theme

box-tube are a 2 column theme with widgetize sidebar and widgetize 3 column footer. Box Space should enough to accomodate 250px wide ads such as banner or inputing 4-6 125×125px banner are also a breeze. Making in somewhat better are the plugin integration and compatible such as

Using Post Styling In Post

Using Theme Option

Basically the theme option is easy and user friendly, nothing much for you to worry

Using Custom Field For Featured Post/Category Page

This one a bit tricky if you are not familiar with custom field usage. First the theme option include a setting for a custom field value, by default the custom value is featured images. You can set this a different value beside the default in theme option if you already running a blog with your own image control key value for post.

Step one

when writing your post, you’ll notice a Custom Field below the Optional excerpt and trackback [+] tabs. Open or click the Custom Field tab and it will display:

• Select box *this is useful if you already create the custom value
• key *custom key – featured images – default for this theme
• value *this will be the image url…etc

Step 2
Everytime you wanted to publish a post with images, you can grab the full url of the images and paste it into the Value box

sample value accepted:

• http://domainname/wp-content/uploads/filename.ext
• http://img-upload-url/filename.ext

Resize the images is not necessary since the category page featured custom value will be hidden if overflow and sidebar featured images will auto resize

Where Am I Going With This?

One of my peers did mention or rather asked me if i know any gallery site that specify in japan style web design?. As far as i know i haven’t seen one yet so i browse and digging into the deep hole of discussion/forum and see if someone mention anything close to what i’m looking. Suprisely the result i found are amazing. I successfully found 2 gallery site that showcase japanese style web design and personally i think the designs are amazing and awesome.

Here are 2 css gallery site you may missed

1. Bm.straightline.jp are a web design sharing bookmark that showcase gallery of japanese and some non-japanese web design. As you visited the site, you may notice the good used of typography in the showcase site so you should visit the site for more web design inspirations.

2. Ikesai.com are a japanese based design showcase that cover almost all aspect/category of web design/style. It had sport design, money design, life design and many more. This site is a must visit for any designer who looking for a fresh inspirations for their works.

Personal Thought

All and all both site give a fresh new look on how i see a web style and design for future work. Both site are in japanese language so be sure to keep your dictionary around

One of the most awating movies in 2007, “I Am Legend” was another will smith new year end box office that hit the cinema prior to his last new year robotics action movies “I Robot”. This latest movies proof not to be a dispointment, “I Am Legend” are about a world where V-virus almost (well almost 99%) turned all the homosapien aka human to a vicious zombie.

The storyline of “I Am Legend” are great although the ending kind of dissapointment(spoiler). Will smith acting in the movie are simply unmatchable. Now if you all alone in the world and put yoursefl in his position, how would you live you days. As for Will Smith, a companion of a doll and dog just so sad. You should see when he saw one of the doll clerk from video store standing outside in the open area. It was just hilliarious and sad when Will Smith thought someone was still alive and standing.

• The zombie are affraid of the light and only go out at night

Story Plot

It is the year 2012. In the ruins of New York city. Robert Neville who is a military scientist who is the lone survivor of a biochemical disease which was supposed to cure cancer 3 years previous. Robert Neville is a scientist who was unable to stop the spread of the terrible virus that was incurable and man-made. Immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and perhaps the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague — The Infected — lurk in the shadows… watching Neville’s every move… waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind’s last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. Smashing magazine well known for it portal infomation blog had release a free themes and font in celebration of their anniversary. The theme was designed by Elena Gafita from the DesignDisease team

Smashing theme are 3 column based theme with a mint coloured flavour, mild white background and a wondeful smooth of colour stripe that really smooth in the eye. More about the theme and detail work can be found at Smashing Magazine

For those who haven’t heard or visited this site yet, definately worth your time to check it out. Design Melt Down been around quite some time now and what make it stand above all is their TREND CATEGORY. Believe it or not, the last time i visited the place(hehe..days ago)..i almost stay at their site for more than 8 hours mainly browse to their trend category such as 3D WORLD, EXTREME THEME, GIANT TYPE and many other awesome trend to check one by one. One particluar trend category i was interested in their SITE TYPE – COMMUNITY SERVER. that something i haven’t heard before..i took my time to browse around each site and see how the looks and feels.
