Another great theme Richie! I’m using it right now and I’ll definitely be plugging it.

One small problem, I can seem to add or modify anything in the Feeds widget. I certainly don’t want my readers to think my subscribers have ballooned to more than 28k overnight! :arrow:

March 9th 2008 at @7:55 pm

thanks for the wonderful theme, I am going to download and use it in my blog. but I have a question. are the adsense codes are integrated or I should add theme separately? plz tell me, I am not very good at coding.

March 9th 2008 at @11:59 pm

Costa, I had the same question on another theme; that number is the result of a feedburner account, go get one for your feeds and then add the code they provide instead of the code in the template.

Kamal: same deal, you can go to any site, build your account and replace the theme’s code with your specific code, or info, or graphic.

THis is a SWEEET clean template. Nice work!!

I’m moving a friend from Bobbles to BoxTube will I be able to just upload and change the theme without anything breaking? I don’t want to loose any of his content. Is there a specific process I should follow?

March 10th 2008 at @5:11 am

Hello. Another superb theme. Thanks a lot for this good job.
I’ve released a french translation here : http://wordpress-tuto.fr/theme-wordpress-box-tube-346

March 10th 2008 at @1:35 pm

thanks

March 10th 2008 at @2:47 pm

@costa
thanks..yes..about the widget..please refer to this hack to make it work smoontly without breaking the widget
let me know if there’s more problems ok
:grin:

@Kamal
yeap..adsense are integrated in single page only..you can input your adsense pub-id in the adsense.php and you’re ready to roll

@Bert
Thanks for helping out with Q&A Bert
:wink:
and yes it shouldn’t cause any problems switching from the bobble theme to the box-tube…unless some custom code mostly some stat counter or manual plugin php code you done in bobble may need to reinsert into the boxtube theme. the boxtube sidebar layout are flexible enough so its easy to spot where to input your own code…if you don’t want it to blend with widget, you can check the link i provided above to costa….that should give some clue on how to move the sidebar box outside widget area.

@libretto
Thanks again libretto, i remember you translate one of theme not long ago..sweet

@Mr Her
You’re welcome
:mrgreen:

March 11th 2008 at @2:49 pm

Thanks, I am proudly using this theme.
Still Some questions:

1. Advertisement at the header does not have active link, can I paste my ad-code there?
2. In your demo, how you have used flickr? are you using plugin or you just put the codes inside text widget?

March 11th 2008 at @3:11 pm

sorry to comment again
I am having a serious problem after I use this theme.
I am running wordpress 2.3.3
everything was fine, before I added some feedburner codes in my widget
after that the widget tab in the presentation menu is crashed.
it does not open and shows me script execution error
please help me :(

March 12th 2008 at @1:18 pm

@Kamal

Ads on top
yes..the ads on top are just dummy ads..you can insert a 468×60 ad banner or google adsense if you like

Flickr
yes..i used the FlickRss plugin for it..don’t forget to activateand config it in the admin panel..after that just go to widget area and drag it into the widget box..

major widget probs
ok..i’m on it:)
you could try move the boxtube theme outside the wp-content/themes/ and it will restore the kubrick theme as default and choose any available theme inside your presentation that had widget and give it a shot again ok..if the problems still persist then it must be the code you input in the text widget are not correct or missing some tag..
:grin:

getback to here if the problems didn’t solved ok
:wink:

March 12th 2008 at @10:46 pm

thanks a lot for the theme, likes a lot! :mrgreen:

March 13th 2008 at @4:28 pm

Very NICE theme!! :shock:

March 13th 2008 at @4:54 pm

Richie, Take a look at my Site .. I installed the theme but the sidebar is showing near footer ???

Any solution?

March 13th 2008 at @5:16 pm

one more thing!!

my footer isn’t center either :S - it’s showing on left!!

sorry for asking too many questions.. but I’m asking them as soon as I confront them! :D

March 13th 2008 at @11:22 pm

Lovely design indeed!!! Oh, I love these :mrgreen: :neutral: :twisted: :arrow: :shock: :smile: :???: :cool: :evil: :grin: :idea: :oops: :razz: :roll: :wink: :cry: :eek: :lol: :mad: :sad: :!: :?: , too. What plug in you use to get these?

Edit: Look all over the net for two weeks now, there seems not to have any theme designer got their hand on a WP game theme like using Halo or WoW, etc. Please, you have one that will be the one to stand out!!!

Thx

I really like this theme.

March 20th 2008 at @2:04 am

One of the best Wordpress Theme’s I have seen in a long time. Very Clean & Professional looking Web 2.0 style. Kudos for the valid xhtml & css too!

March 21st 2008 at @3:57 am

I decided to start a new running blog using this theme.

It’s called E-CORREDOR.

Thanks Richie because it is very complete and professional, i’m loving it.

I made some modifications, and its great!

Congratulations!

FYI the comments template (at least) has some short PHP ( <? ) tags mixed in with the regular form ( <?php ) which caused some problems on my installation… might want to fix all of them in the theme to the long form :) Great template!

March 23rd 2008 at @8:32 am

Thank u for nice work. I like the themes but I have been encountering problem with widgets. They seem to be frozen. I can’t move them about. I have tried re installing both wordpress, data base, theme and also deactivated all plugins.
I appreciate any help.
With thanks.

March 24th 2008 at @7:32 pm

Hello Richie?

This is a very beautiful theme; the best since a long time.
I have only a problem with the menu. When I click on one of the page-tabs (Thailand), the ‘child-pages’ do not show up.
But I am working on it to solve this problem.

With kind regards (from Holland),
Marcel

March 25th 2008 at @12:07 am

I’ve just recently installed your theme. Looks great, however, the comments are not working. Whenever a comment is submitted, the user receives an error stating that there is a problem with their settings and they should enable javascript and/or turn on cookies in their browser settings. Those settings are already active, comments just don’t work.

Anyone have an idea of what might be going on?

March 26th 2008 at @10:04 am

I wonder if I have done anything against the rules and use of the theme because it is stuck every time i try after having uploaded it. I can’t activate by clicking on screen pic in the control panel- it is stuck above all others. Widgets fails as well.
What could be the problem? I folwed instructions u gave above to move the theme out of the theme map and re install again. I din’t help.
I am now testing the other one before I solve the problem. I just upgraded to wordpress 2.5
Thanks in advance.

March 26th 2008 at @4:56 pm

Moin
just checked out the source..it seems there’s a extra div closing in the end of the footer..open footer.php and delete the last div closing..some where above the g-analystic code..that should wrap it up and put the footer back at the bottom
:grin:

web design bristol
thanks man…precious word always good to hear..
:eek:

Paulo Massa
thanks glad you found a place for the theme..also good to know somebody is putting it to good use…again appreciated
:mrgreen:

Chris L
yeap…the short and long from php code always been something that concerned me….in fact in the early, php4 doesn’t always support it and some server write read always had the problem…will be looking into that later on..although currently most hosting are on the way of adapting php5 on all their system so i’m sure it will come out awright by the end of the day..cheers

Maasaiwarrior
hello Maasaiwarrior.. i been testing the them theme from wp 2.1 up to 2.5 and it seems ok with couple of my usual plugin activate..well except for the popularity contest did not work in wp 2.5…..did you redownload the theme from here and reupload it….

try apply the default kubrick theme and write some dummy post > save it as draft and go to presentation and click on the boxtube theme again to activate..let’s see if the engine gets going..
:mrgreen:

let me know the progress..ok

Bryan
hello bryan..i just test out the comment there and it works ok..the only problem would be the moderation notification

you comment is under moderation…blah blah

that is normal if your turn on your moderation mode…
:smile:

Bryan
March 26th 2008 at @8:51 pm

I’ve actually fixed the problem.
Seems there was a compatibility conflict between two plug-ins.
Thanks anyway, great theme.

March 28th 2008 at @10:59 am

Just updated my blog to Wordpress 2.5RC-2 and it appears to be working fine on this theme. I haven’t noticed any bugs and I really like the new dashboard. Richie, will you continue to update this theme as new releases come out, I assume not much has to be done for 2.5?

Thanks!

March 28th 2008 at @11:44 pm

Could anyone help me on how to get the trackback function to show up in this gorgeous theme????

sure no problems and thanks, come again oright.
:wink:

Alex
thanks alex
yeap..it still working on wp 2.5 rc and the final release so glad update is not necessary like the previous core change in wp2.3
:roll:

TRM
pingback and trackback should work if detected unless it was disable in admin options..check it out ok

sparky98
heya sparky98, addding your own logo or image should be easy
here’s a quick step (of coz your own way also recommended)

open header.php and edit as sample below

<h1><a href="#"><?php bloginfo(’name’) ?></a></h1>

to something like this

<h1><a href="your-home-url"><img scr="your-img-url"></a></h1>

try it out ok :grin:

Thanks Richie-K for your quick response. I tried what you suggested above but the image didnt show up. I was able to change the buy.com banner on the right though by putting the image inside the box tube themes folder. But I can’t get my logo on the left to show up all i see is the tagline or description. Should I change something in the stylesheet ? Thank you so much.

Just wondering how do I change the font type of the posts and comments.

April 8th 2008 at @3:45 am

how can set up your box tube theme to work with flickr?

April 8th 2008 at @4:11 pm

Hey, thanks for the theme it’s great. I’m using it in my current site. There is just one problem, and I don’t seem to be the only one with it. The footer doesn’t want to stay in the center, it goes to the left. I think it happens when you alter the sidebar, because when I replace the original sidebar code it goes back to normal. Please help! Thanks. I’ll try messing with it in the meantime.

April 9th 2008 at @4:53 am

I can’t use neigher
brian threaded comments nor
recaptcha nor
top commentators
with box tube
I’m using wordpress 2.5.

can you help me?

April 9th 2008 at @10:57 am

Thanks for making this great theme available.

I’ve been playing with making a contact form work with the theme and have not had a lot of luck. But I’ll keep working on that.

The reason for writing is to ask how to get rid of the Google adds that appear on posts? Any help you can give will be appreciated. Thanks.

April 11th 2008 at @3:01 am

Thanks for a great theme.

It works perfectly in Firefox but doesn’t look great in IE.

Any suggestions, I’m using it on http://www.eliteblogger.net

Thanks.

I wonder if you’re planning to answer emails or comments in this post?
I thought you create this theme to help people, but in instead you’re giving me a hard time cause I’m not able to use the plugins with your theme.

I am attempting to use the box theme , but how in the world do I place my 125 banner ads, where they will work, because when I try all it does is remove the 125×125 box from the sidebar, please help i just want to place my ad’s there, that what I loved so much about this theme!

April 13th 2008 at @11:34 am

Hi,
I have been using this theme for awhile now and love it. I just redownloaded the latest version and removed the extra div tag in the footer. I am not using any widgets.
On single view my sidebar gets put under the post and not on the sidebar.

See here - LINK

Thanks

April 13th 2008 at @2:49 pm

Fortunately I was able to activate the plugin subscribe-to-comments manually.
I had to go to the comments.php page and add the code manually.

Now I just need to implement Top Commentators and reCaptcha to make all I need to work.

Box tube theme + WP 2.5

April 15th 2008 at @12:50 am

First for the great theme, I am using it now on my blog using 2.5 version of WP, question,
How can i change the 125×125 advertisement to google ads 125×125 button, is there also a way to place adsense on an specific page? like about page?

Leo,

To change 125×125 ad you have to go advertisments.php page and replace the img, that is holding a space for the AD, by your your AD.

April 15th 2008 at @8:16 pm

sparky98

ahh..yes..i forgot to add that you need to include a wordpress template tag for the image to work…something like this

<img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/your-img.gif" alt="youalt" />

hope that solve the invisible image..hehe
:wink:

silverz

how to change global font?

open style.css and find the body tag and and change the font-family, if you want to change the headline(h1,h2…) find the h1,h2,h3…. tag and also change the font-family.

Ariel
well you just answer the question…hehehe…yeap…i already make some space in the theme so it easy to identify which block start and which block end…just be careful when editing the theme…you might missing some closing div etc….that’s the reason in most cases if the sidebar or footer collapse..
:grin:

Shawn

this one a bit tough one….ok here goes…as i checked on the source code of your current theme…you’re missing a closing tag for div content maybe got deleted when you editing the the theme..plz check it ok and also the placement of the <script> code for the amazon should be at the beginning/inside of div wrapper

<body>
<div id="wrapper">
<script> here

ok..check on the missing div close for the div content first ok…
:grin:

james
well you shouldn’t remove any closing div…this is always the cause of footer break in the theme…check the theme missing closing div ok…

just check your theme source..it seem you missing the closing tag for div content..it should be in the footer.php or the end of sidebar.php

RichMc
sure….i think the adsense code only appear in single.php so just open single.php and remove the google adsense code from the template..should be easy to spot
:wink:

Candice
heya candice…sure if you want to add your own ads…just copy the image to your images folder and open advertisment.php and you’ll see something like this

<a href="#site url here"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/ads.gif" alt="1" /></a>

replace the bold text above with your url and image name..

Leo
yeap…you can follow thiago instructions on the adsense placement…it should be in the advertisment.php and just do something like this

<div class="adlist">
google code
google code
</div>

no need for styling for script or separator….not sure how this will work….haven’t test it out…try it out ok

Thiago Prado

heya thiago..sorry i been busy for last couple of week..don’t worry i always check on the comment for support here

ok back to your question.

the theme are not optimized or compatible with brian threaded comments…the comment structure need to like kubrick with list in list for that to work..in this case the styling for boxtube in comment are not suited for the nested level for that plugin..

recaptcha may be conflict with wp-rating and wp-grin..plz check if that’s the case..meanwhile i will check on the “recaptcha”..i haven’t personally used or work/intergrated this to my theme before..
:roll:

April 15th 2008 at @11:15 pm

thanks thiago and richie,
just found it out, when I am experimenting something, that when I add a new block of google code, the remaining image is being shifted below.

thus any of you guys know how can i put a google ad on a specific page only? like you see on my blog on advertise section, I want to place a javascript code.

April 16th 2008 at @1:45 am

I don’t know how I did it, but in my test website I canceled your style and the two plugins(subscribe to comments and briansthreadedcomments-1.5.18) worked. check out test website
The problem is that I can’t make it work in my real website.
To make that happen I deleted all the plugins from my test website and start uploading one by one and suddenly the page got broken and fix the problem about the plugins. I think that happened cause I delete the plugins in the hosting without deactivate them.
Q = Can I modify comments.php and try to make it the way is showing in the link above?
If the answer is YES please let me know. By the way forget about recaptcha plugin. The other plugin that is not working is TopCommentators.

Thanks,

james
April 16th 2008 at @4:54 am

:mrgreen: OK I figured it out and thanks. When I deleted Google ads on single.php I deleted the closing div tag after the last Google ad.
All is fine now.

April 18th 2008 at @7:43 pm

Hello Richie,

first of all i want to thank you for your fantastic themes!!!

I’m pretty new in using Wordpress and have to say that your works are awesome … all this php coding is enormous! I used to create Joomla templates and that is way easier than to build Wordpress themes.

Thank’s a lot!

Best regards Alex

April 19th 2008 at @1:50 am

i have a strange error in the post page when I upgrade from wp 2.5rc1 to wordpress 2.5
The error is that.\”Project-Id-Version: WordPress 2.5 Report-Msgid-Bugs-To: wp-polyglots@lists.automattic.com POT-Creation-Date: 2008-03-29 18:22+0200 PO-Revision-Date: 2008-04-02 08:23+0100 Last-Translator: Language-Team: Italian (www.wordpress-it.it) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=n != 1; X-Poedit-Language: Italian X-Poedit-Country: ITALY X-Poedit-SourceCharset: utf-8 X-Poedit-KeywordsList: __;_e X-Poedit-Basepath: . Do you know what is it? Is it an error of the theme or of the italian version of wordpress?

April 19th 2008 at @4:49 am

Hi,

at first: Thanks for the theme! Good job on this one! Got a little problem with the comment stuff. When there’s a comment, I’ve got the following output in my blog:
comment_type != “trackback” && $comment->comment_type != “pingback” && !ereg(”", $comment->comment_content) && !ereg(”", $comment->comment_content)) { ?>

Have a look at: http://www.matejunkie.com/wordpress/motorradfuehrerschein-phase-3/

Don’t know where it comes from. PHP version? <? instead of <?php? When I change this to <?php there are no comments shown at all.
Another problem is the sidebar which is shown below the content in single entry view. This is widget related, isn’t it?

Any help on this? Thanks in advance.

Mike

April 19th 2008 at @10:47 am

Congratulations of the wonderful theme Richie. I have been using it on my the Study Matrix Art blog for almost 1 month since the blog was launched, and it has been working perfectly right from the beginning. All that is a attributed to your great work and effort.

I have just have a couple of questions:

- How do you activate the “take our pole” feature which I can’t seem to get working on my blog. Do you use a wordpress plugin for this?
- Do you use a plugin for the “Star Vote Rating” system that is shown in your Box-Tube example?

Thanks you for your assistance.

Hey, I’ve got my new blog all pimped out, but the one thing I can’t figure out is how to replace the google ad sense with other ads. Can you provide some advice on this? I tried inserting code in the adsense.php file, but that didn’t work. You can reach me at info@unlimitedfightnews.com

April 23rd 2008 at @4:53 pm

I like you theme, i think it looks great!

April 28th 2008 at @8:46 am

leo
glad you’re figure the problem out leo
ok..if you need to used a specific page only for the code, assuming the page is an internal page not custom page like archives or sitemap, you can check out this page for the conditional tag

Thiago Prado
heya, thiago
thanks and i see you got couple of thing work out
:wink:
as for your question, did you mean modify the comments.php to use the brian thread comment, not sure….since the original comments.php is a graphical box with comments..not sure if nested list will look ok..might check and experince it later..thanks 4 bringing it up

top commentator plugin will work with theme but i don’t think i include the code integration inside, you may need to manually input the php code for it to work.
:grin:

Alex Hanke
sweet and thanks…come again ok
:mrgreen:

francesco
not sure about this since i myself haven’t experiance a multi language installation..please redownload the theme or reinstall the wordpress and see if the installation file is corrupt
:grin:

Mike
hello mike…yes this issue are one of the main issue in the theme…couple of users already face this problem..i will updating the boxtube comment page using the bm comment function soon so you just need to replace the comments.php and function.php later on ok
:grin:

Adam Sicinski
yes adam…the wp-polls and wp-rating can be download at lester chan plugin page

cheers

Boxer_47
i see..i seee…no..if you want to used your own code..just replace the entire code from the theme..ye know the script code for adsense with your own code..the adsense.php only store the pub-id..you can ignore that if using your own code..
:grin:

FSB Jewellery
thx…. :oops:

May 1st 2008 at @8:05 pm

Hey! Great theme by the way…it’s perfect for what I need :lol:

Two questions for you:

1. When I add stuff in the sidebar (using the text widgets), it adds little red bullet dots by it. Can I selectively get rid of these if I want? If so, how?

2. Notice my header area - I put in my own logo and it looks fine, but there is a bit too much space between it and the navigation bar. Can I reduce this space?

Thanks!

May 2nd 2008 at @10:04 am

thanks ritchie, will update this comment if I have made it to work.

May 2nd 2008 at @11:05 pm

If I modify the theme in order to have it work with the plugins I used with my previous design is that ok or does it break the license?

May 4th 2008 at @4:45 am

@Ryan
thanks ryan
1. read dot widget problem
sorry this is the one million question i still can’t figure it out :mrgreen:
since i want to maintain the bullet sytle widget so in function.php you can a line like this

if ( function_exists(’register_sidebar’) ) {
register_sidebar(array(’name’=>’Sidebar Widget’,
‘before_widget’ => ”,
‘after_widget’ => ‘</li></ul></div>’,
‘before_title’ => ‘<div class="sidebar-box"><h3>’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</h3><ul class="list"><li>’,
));

register_sidebar(array(’name’=>’Footer 3 Max Widget’,
‘before_widget’ => ”,
‘after_widget’ => ‘</li></ul></div>’,
‘before_title’ => ‘<div class="sidebar-box"><h3>’,
‘after_title’ => ‘</h3><ul class="list"><li>’,
));

change the <ul class="list"> to <ul class="nolist">
not sure how will it effect the entire widget usability tho..try it out ok

2. header-gap probs
just check the scode..i see you wrap the logo with h1…try remove the h1 and leave the image only

@leo

Hey Richie - thanks for the reply!

I’ll try the bullet fix later when I have more time to fool with it.

The main concern is the header issue still. I’ve tried it both ways (with and without the h1 tag), and still no luck. I’m sure it’s a simple fix - would love to hear any other suggestions.

Thanks again!

TAKE NOTE, EDITED POST TO REPORT: This blog is stripping the html code from the header.php changes needed to remove the space. The changes needed in style.css remained intact

Ryan - I was able to solve the space issue in the header using the following. (EDITED POST to report: HTML changes in header.php have been stripped)

In the header.php replace this:

<a href="">

<img src=”/images/468.gif” alt=”468″ width=”468″ height=”60″ />

<li id=”homepage_item”><a href=”" title=”Home”>Home

With this:

<a href="http://www.YOUR-WEBSITE-URL.com“><img src=”/images/468.gif” alt=”468″ width=”900″ height=”80″ />

<li id=”homepage_item”><a href=”" title=”Home”>Home

In the style.css, change this:

#header {
float: left;
width: 900px;
padding-top: 6px;
position: relative;
}
#header img {
border-width: 0px;
}
.header-left {
float: left;
width: 390px;
padding-top: 10px;
padding-bottom: 20px;

To This:

#header {
float: left;
width: 900px;
padding-top: 0px;
position: relative;
}
#header img {
border-width: 0px;
}
.header-left {
float: left;
width: 390px;
padding-top: 0px;
padding-bottom: 0px;

Change this:

#navigator {
background: url(images/navigator.gif) no-repeat center center;
float: left;
width: 880px;
padding-right: 10px;
padding-left: 10px;
margin-top: 12px;
margin-bottom: 8px;
height: 32px;
font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Tahoma, "VAGRounded BT", Verdana;

To This:

#navigator {
background: url(images/navigator.gif) no-repeat center center;
float: left;
width: 880px;
padding-right: 10px;
padding-left: 10px;
margin-top: 0px;
margin-bottom: 8px;
height: 32px;
font-family: "Trebuchet MS", Tahoma, "VAGRounded BT", Verdana;

NOTE:

The above changes will remove the space between the header and the navigation bar. It will also transform the header area into a single placeholder for a single 900 x 80 header image. This change will remove the right banner placement, in favour of a header image linked to your home page.

If you want to keep the banner ad area, see the changes I made in the header.php that removed the code for the banner space.

This change also removes the Website Title and description from the left portion of the header, in favour of a single header image with a link to the home page.

Hi, your theme is the best I’ve used ever since I started blogging. Thanks very much for your free and beautiful and impressive theme.

Can you tell me how do I do the following:

- Remove/edit the “more about this site” box
- Make quoted text look normal and not bold
- Remove the Google ads search box

Many thanks!

Great theme. I do have issues with it and Firefox, and plugins such as Secure and Accessible PHP Contact form. The text moves really far to the right. Other themes work fine with both IE & Firefox but for some reason it is getting messed up. I believe there is a tag that isn’t being closed properly.

how can I make the sidebar only show the 10 most categories instead of everything?

May 20th 2008 at @6:35 am

Richie, great theme!! Just what I was looking for. I just implemented BoxTube on my site ILovePhotoblogs and have a few questions:
How do I get Feedburner to look like demo?
How to implement Popular Posts at page bottom?
Red dot in order list issue in sidebar
If I insert Adsense code, is Buy.com ad valid?

Thanks again…Love it!

May 21st 2008 at @10:25 pm

I have solved 2/4 issues I was having:

How do I get Feedburner to look like demo?
How to implement Popular Posts at page bottom?
Red dot in order list issue in sidebar
If I insert Adsense code, is Buy.com ad valid?

Implemented “nolist” suggestions for multiple red dots in list, now there are no dots..but it looks better..thanks

Read comments about the Buy.com header ad…thanks

Still would like to know how to ad the big Feedburner box to sidebar and how to implement Popular Posts in third box in footer.

June 10th 2008 at @1:45 am

Richie,

I absolutely love this theme and truly appreciate all your help and assistance. One question…did you ever come up with a different fix for the “Red Dot” widget issue? I implemented the fix but it changed much fo the look for widgets that contained customized text.

Just wondering…if not, no worries.

Thanks,

Idiotic Red Dot Fix

Richie,

I have come up with the “Dumb Guy” fix for the red dot issue. I opened the image folder then recolored the Dot to make it white. Now it blends into the background. The dot is still there I suppose but you can’t see it.

Check it out!

ImperfectUnion

This may not suffice for everyone but it worked perfectly for my idiot needs.

Thanks again for everything.

Hi Nice theme….

I wonder if I could repeat the issue raised about the non-functioning widgets which really is restricting the design.

It seems the footer functions are working so Widgets are added to the sidebar when requested to the Footer. Also the the ordering cannot be changed on thr sidebar.

Please can you give this some attention.

Thanks

July 8th 2008 at @12:45 am

First and foremost, your theme was one of the easier ones to install, easiest to modify, and looks the nicest to a “Web 2.0″ look ‘n feel. I’ve managed to make a few slight modifications to the theme, and with your permission, will document how I did everything for your readers/viewers to be able to make modifications of their own. This will give everyone a more *professional* look, which I feel, is essential, if not required, in blogging today.

Although I am still noodlin’ around a bit, I should have something put together soon. One of the things that I am working on is a banner rotator at the top of each page. Instead of having the Google AdSense ad (no offense, Google), I wanted to put something else there in case someone wishes to advertise. For starters, it’s really simple.

Next came the branding, by removing the title name and description of the blog, and replacing it within the logo of my company. Fairly simple, and was able to find most of the conditionals requiring the name (which, BTW, you don’t need, IF you’re going to utilize a logo or company brand name).

I was having similar trouble with the problem of the ending “” Again, simple fix. Simply put an extra “” at the end, and you’ll notice that the problem goes away for IE 6.x. I’ve tested this with IE 7.x, a beta version of IE 8.x, Firefox 2.x, and one of my buddies tried it out with Opera (don’t know which version). Everything worked fine, and looks great.

The blog is dedicated to homeland security and critical infrastructure protection (CIP), and at some point in time, I will migrate this to a larger bandwidth “pipe” (no, I don’t need one, thank you).

The blog may be found here: http://blog.infracritical.com.

Everything is considered “open source intelligence”, and is available freely, openly, and isn’t classified or designated as “sensitive information”. Any ideas, I’m open to ‘em.

Also, I’ve started using PHPEXEC — great program, BTW. Simply put in the following code sandwiched between …, and zacko-zingo…instant advertisements. I’m still trying to figure out why JavaScript scripts won’t work within PHP, but will figure that out soon enough.

Any questions, just send me an email… ;)

More to come, too…

July 8th 2008 at @12:49 am

BTW, would you ever consider a split-format of offering 2, 3 and 4-columned formats for the Box Tube theme? This might be useful for those who want a little bit more variety in their content formats.

Just an idea… ;)

July 8th 2008 at @3:59 pm

Hi! ,

I have one question but not sure can it be done or not? :oops:

I want the 3-column-footer to move up and become 3-column-header. :grin:

Possible? Any coding expert here?

Thanks, it is a nice theme…

Zach

I need help to modify the width of the sidebar and the theme, to make the site become larger. Can anyone help me ?

August 10th 2008 at @11:55 am

@Hung
You can go into the theme editor from within Wordpress and choose Stylesheet(style.css). There you can change the width of various items, such as header, content, wrapper, sidebar, etc. The default width of the wrapper and content is 900px. The code will look like this:

#wrapper {
width: 900px;
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;

Thank you mike.
How can I set the template to only list the xxx number of Recent Entries ? like it will only list:
Entry1
Entry2
Entry3
Entry4
Entry5
More…
and more is the clickable link to view all entries ?

August 10th 2008 at @11:25 pm

@Hung
If you are referring to limiting the number of posts that show per page, you can adjust that figure from within the Wordpress control panel. Go to Reading under the Settings panel and you will see an option titled “Blog pages show at most” with a box to enter a number.

More is typically used if you are not displaying the full post content on your posts page. Clicking more will show the remainder of that individual post.

This template has a link at the bottom of the page that says “older entries” (if I remember correctly, I changed it on mine). “older entries” will show the rest of your posts.

Hi,
Its a great WP theme, one of the best that i have seen. I was trying the extend the post width and shrink the side bar. I have tried to change the following:
#wrapper {
width: 900px;
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;

but all does is moves the content box on left. Any help??
Thanks

August 13th 2008 at @10:26 pm

@footpath
take a look at your sidebar.php, there maybe an extra div on it, i have experienced it only to find out that I have an extra div placed.

@mike,
have a look at http://www.mirabuna.com/sitemap/, the supposed to be listing are being shifted to the right on firefox. but using IE8 seem fine.

August 13th 2008 at @10:42 pm

Thanx Leo..you feedback was useful..I love your theme..but I’d like to modify it just a little to suit my requirement… :wink:

1) Can you tell me how to increase the font size?..Only the font size of the text of the posts..not the title and other things.

2) I also want to increase the Size of the my title. It’s too small, and definitely needs to be bigger..How do I go about it?

3) Is there a way I can replace that title with my site banner? Which size banner would you recommend?

4) As my blog is a multiple author blog, how can I add both the author’s names after “home” and “about” (Just below the title), so that I can link them to their articles?

thanks and keep up the good work
foot

August 13th 2008 at @11:25 pm

@Leo
The link in your post has a comma at the end, so it is not working. I did view your sitemap in both IE and Firefox. I do not see the problem that you mentioned. I have uploaded a screenshot of what I see using Internet Explorer and Firefox
http://www.freethemac.com/media/IE.png
http://www.freethemac.com/media/Firefox.png

Does it display the same as this in your browswer??

@footpathsfaded
You can adjust the fonts for anything in the stylesheet. Go into the theme editor and select stylesheet(style.css). Browse until you find the item you would like to adjust and change the value for font size. It will look like this:

font-size: 14px;

@Katy
The wrapper is only one element of the page. The code displayed in the post is just an example of what to look for. There is individual code for all elements (sidebar, header, body, etc.) Look around for the item you would like to adjust (for example, sidebar) and adjust the width property.

August 15th 2008 at @12:20 am

@Leo
You have a comma at the end of your link in the above post, so it does not work. I did view your sitemap with Firefox and I did not see the problem you mentioned. I uploaded a screenshot of what it looked like when I viewed it. You can see it here:
http://freethemac.com/media/Firefox.png

@foot
All of the font sizes can be changed from the theme editor. Choose the stylesheet and browse to the item you want to change and adjust font-size.

@katy
The wrapper is only one element to change and it was just used as an example of what the code looks like. The same process is used to adjust the width of the sidebar.

August 16th 2008 at @1:32 am

@mike,
thanks, that’s strange, hmmn let me check the plugins of my firefox, i am running at 2.0.0.16.

August 24th 2008 at @10:21 pm

yes there is, take a look at my blog and see how i implemented it, are you sure you are not banned from adsense? i wonder why there is an extra space on your pub id

August 25th 2008 at @12:43 am

if you want to can just place the adsense code on single.php in lieu with the adsense code in place

August 25th 2008 at @4:36 am

Not banned from adsense, extra space? tried the single.php as well to no avail.

What is the best way to add a link to the navigation bar. For example, suppose I wanted people to click on a external link off of our naviation bar, how would I go about doing that? One of the other things I would like to do is have the SureThing Baseball link only show Post from within the Baseball category. I can not find the HTML.

I also have read all the comments about adding the logo but I have not had any success. Sorry, I know these issues are probably super easy fixes but I am having a difficult time.

Great theme! Can you someone give advice as to how I can remove the social.php bookmarking bar from a custom page template without disrupting the position of the sidebar? See here.

I have created a custom page template and can clear out the page until i reach :

” < ?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . '/social.php'); ?> ”

when I delete that or replace it the sidebar changes position..

October 4th 2008 at @4:59 pm

@Jono,
YOu can delete that fine maybe there are some div that you also removed.

Thanks for this great theme!

Quick question… when you post links in posts, such as, http://dezzain.com, they only show as text and not hyperlinks. You have to manually create a link during writing the post.

Is there a way to fix this so it recognizes links?

Thanks a bunch! Keep up the good work!

I love the theme, but am having some trouble getting my header add to show up in the right place, and getting the sample one to disappear as well as where to place the code for the 125×125 ads.Can you tell me exactly where to place my add code based upon the following:

125×125 ad
<img src=”/images/ads.gif” alt=”1″ />

468x 60 ad in the header. php

<img src=”/images/468.gif” alt=”" width=”468″ height=”60″ />

I’ve tried a couple of places, and it doesn’t work. I know this might be beginnerish, but I need some help with the one. :???: Thanks in advance.

Also, if you are aware of a great resource tutorial available please share.

Looks like this theme doesn’t function with the WP-cache or WP-super-cache module?

For some reason it doesn’t cache pages

any ideas why? Without that plugin, my site is so busy that it simply doesn’t work.

Additionally, some of the fonts are messed up in IE… is there a fix for this?

thanks !

First off, what a great theme. However, I discovered some inadequacies with some of the header tags H1, H2, H3 etc. To start, the H1 tag is the same for each page, which isn’t exactly optimal for SEO purposes. The main page of my website only appears in search engines, the actual permalinks files do not show. Does anybody know of a quick fix for this problem?
