I downloaded your Box tube theme and its great. im using it now on my site. The free version Zoxengen…. does not include the xhtml and cSS file is that what you mean? So the theme is connecting to an external file to your web server? is that what you mean. as i understand the 2 files are only available for the paid version.

Thank you for the free themes…

April 28th 2008 at @5:55 pm

thanks edwin, its great you like the boxtube theme
:mrgreen:

basically the zoxengen theme had an option for you to purchase and download an upgrade version of the original free version theme.

this is of course is not necessary since the theme is still consider as free theme…hehe

not much changes in upgrade(paid) version except i include the xhtml/css files and psd files inside the paid download so any user can edit or modify their theme, it is also for learning curve since the xhtml/css are in good condition without having you to save an already content based page as html and having to edit the theme with all the link code inner..if you know what i mean..
:grin:

with the upgrade version, simply open the theme and open the xhtml inside and start edit the style..with the psd(unrasterize)..you can change almost everything in header and the sidebar header color/style

hope that bring up the light in ‘what is the upgrade version?’

i like your design…actually I have software download site and still under development…I need a professional web designer to handle it. I’m also planning to get 1 personalize wordpress theme.. Where to contact you to discuss it in email?

April 30th 2008 at @4:56 pm

I like this theme, and have downloaded it. Can’t really use it yet because I actually need help to tweak the jslide. The current one only allows us to rotate featured articles from our own blogs pegged against the categories.

I have sent you an email.

Hi Richie,

I like your zoxengen theme very much. Therefore, I decided to use it for my blog. After installation, the following error promt when open with IE7:

Line: 5
Chat: 1
Error: ‘gallery’ is undefined
code:0

No error when open with Firefox. Please advise.

Thanks.

Probably my favourite wordpress theme. :cool:

Thanks!

May 3rd 2008 at @10:24 am

I love this theme! :grin:

One thing is it possible to set the featured gallery to pull from multiple categories?

May 4th 2008 at @4:29 am

sry for the late reply guys:)

@Edwin
sry dude…i’m currently still tide on couple of work and also personal
development that will be coming up in next month…

Ed
yes..Ed i did received your email…as for your question, i don’t think its possible since the featured articles was control by wp_query of the actual site category, if you said you wanted to group a category from other sites..i really did not how….similiar question come up in my contact email last couple of days…
:smile:

George
thanks george..and yes i got your email from contact….again sorry, as i mention above to Edwin, i’m still tight on scheduel :wink: although your idea on your own site in email are really interesting….might booked sometime in next month for you..no promised tho…cheers

KW Choong
heya Kw, i see..did you turn off or deactivate the plugin and try again..because i did not see any problems in my test site with ie7..tested locally with wp 2.5 in ie7 also come up error less, it must had conflicted with plugins in your instalation but still it is unlikely the theme will cause this error, please check if(maybe) your wordpress version problem..what version are you using….i personally didn’t test the theme under wp 2.1 yet..

peace:)

thanks man

open featured.php and find this following line

<?php $my_query = new WP_Query(’category_name=’. $tn_zen_featured_category . ‘&’ . ’showposts=’. $tn_zen_featured_sum); while ($my_query->have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post(); $do_not_duplicate = $post->ID; ?>

change it to

<?php /*this had been added*/ $my_query = new WP_Query(’cat=62,49&showposts=6′); while ($my_query->have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post(); $do_not_duplicate = $post->ID; ?>

as you can see the new WP_Query with your cat_id but you need to insert your own cat id there like

new WP_Query(’cat=1,2,44,55,66,77,88,22,49&showposts=6′);

the cat list can as long as you want and also show how many post also can be altered

by using this method, you can ignore the theme option for featured control..it will not effect the theme usuability

hope that’s help

:smile:

Looks great. I want to use it on one of my blogs, but I have a small problem.

The desktop blogging client where I write my posts, Windows Live Writer, doesn’t retrieve the theme correctly. The red bar from above the post shows up in the text area. Can anything be done about it by any chance?

I love the new design. I am extremely new to the blogging world and pretty clueless, yet I’ve been able to get my site up and running with your great theme.

My only question so far is, once I switched to your theme, I lost my blog roll. How do I get it back?

Keep it simple, don’t forget I’m a newbie!

May 8th 2008 at @2:24 pm

I am testing it out, WP 2.5.1 and the featured article images do not load, just a remaining black box.

Is this a 2.5 issue? I did follow the custom field instructions. I think I’d like to purchase this if sure that this feature will work.

May 8th 2008 at @3:39 pm

Great theme!

How can you put ads in the 6 spaces tho? I can’t seem to find out how.

:?: also how do you change the picture in the featured article spot?

Againreally nice theme better than the one I had before-just plugged it in today.

May 8th 2008 at @7:48 pm

DON:

The ad code ’spaces’ are located in the sidebar-right.php, paste your ad code into the space replacing the line of text there now. you can’t miss it, its’ six identical lines one on top of eachother

The featured article spot I only change once in awhile, ftp a new image, sized 465×250 to replace the existing on called no-image into the mages folder…

There is a plug in to have them rotate out there I think,,,

NOW if anyone knows how to replace the header text with my custom image let me know

May 9th 2008 at @2:55 am

Very cool theme, thank you! :cool:

Richard
May 9th 2008 at @5:43 am

Definitely a conflict with 2.5.1

I installed it twice on 2.5.1 - no go with the featured articles.
Twice on 2.3.3 - all works.

Hope an update is released - it would most likely persuade people to pay for this theme.

Thanks Buffoon ,

I did the ads and will check out the image next–somehow My whole sites work got screwed something to do with my hosting servers-changeover-switching something-changing ns-will have to redo two days of hard work nd upload theme again—–crazy! Wish I could help you with the header but can’t-maybe someone will come up with the answer soon!

Richard–sounds bad about the wp 2.5 problem hope that gets fixed soon

May 9th 2008 at @8:31 pm

Hi Richie,

Great WP theme - one of the best theme out there! As soon as I know it’s released, I used it in my blog. I’m still tweaking it right now.

That being said, I have a noob question here - in your using theme guide, you mention about sidebar class list and nolist - whilst I know what you mean, I can’t simply use nolist to eliminate the bullet from my image pic at my blog’s sidebar.

Where should I make the change? I did it in sidebar.php and sidebar-right.php with no luck.

Please advice :)

@realityshow - read the ‘using theme’ guide in your WP presentation tab - u have to use featured-images in custom fields in order for your image to be displayed in the wonderful jslide.

Cheers!

May 10th 2008 at @1:24 am

I more problem found - When I view individual post, My sidebar dropped below - any suggestions?

I’m thinking about tweaking the width - no luck so far…

May 10th 2008 at @8:07 am

I have the theme running on 2.5.1 and on the beta 2.6 works on both for me, including the features. And I paid for it! :mrgreen:

May 10th 2008 at @11:30 am

@realityshow

did you follow each step on the theme option > using themes?
it used featured-images for custom field value
you need to add this step when posting your post for it to show up as custom meta images
so it will auto rotate your featured category custom image and title etc.. :grin:

@David cheong

thanks man, drop by again ok

@alex
not sure..i haven’t experience that media yet..will look into that later

@Buffon
check header.php and find this line

<!–<a href="<?php echo get_settings(’home’); ?>"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/logo.gif" alt="home" /></a> –>

uncommet it and delete the bottom <h1></h1><p></p>

change the bold text to your image name (yourimage.jpg/gif/png) in images folder

@Pavan Kumar
thanks pavan
maybe i should make a newer and fresher design for the site soon….hint: hint:

@mingming
sry man, i can’t read it lol

@Shannon
yeap…i think i missed the blogroll link in non widgetize field
please follow this step to add the blogroll into it…of coz if you using widget…i think it had the blogroll
widget to used..anyway

open sidebar or sidebar-right.php and add this line on top of <h3>meta</h3> if using sidebar.php

<h3><?php _e(’Links’); ?></h3>
<ul class="list">
<?php get_links(-1, ‘<li>’, ‘</li>’, ‘ - ‘); ?>
</ul>

that should add the blogroll into it

@barry
thanks man, just check the ej log and yeap i got your order in between…just email me on the email
provided if any problems comes up ok

@Richard
it maybe conflict with plugins…try disable couple of plugins and try it again ok and also follow the step in theme usage.
re-round the step again if anything missed:)
i tested in latest version of wp 2.5.1 and 2.3-2.5……it works fine:)

@Don
heya don…you can follow the instruction about custom field in theme option > theme usage

- ads placment
open sidebar-right.php and replace the images in advertisment block with your images copy into the images/root folder or banner and copy paste your img name to the area

if using images folder root
<a href="#"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/myimg.ext" alt="sample" /></a>

if using images/banner folder root
<a href="#"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/banner/myimg.ext" alt="sample" /></a>

- sidebar-drop
this may be cause bt overflow of the sidebar are…..the fixed was 160px and 250px for right sidebar

try out this step to hack it:)
open style.css and find this line and add as follow

#sidebar-left {
padding: 5px 5px 10px;
float: left;
width: 175px;
background: #F9F9F9;
border: 1px solid #eeeeee;
margin: 0px;
overflow: hidden;
}
#sidebar-right {
padding: 5px 0px 5px 5px;
width: 260px;
float: left;
overflow: hidden;
}

let me know how its go ok

@Rolando
thanks rolando, drop in anytime ok:)

@zurui
thanks..now how to say come again in japanese?..hehe

@Noobpreneur
yeap….the classed list is just an optional step for user to manipulate his/her theme
it work like this, if you have a sidebar list

<h3><?php _e(’Links’); ?></h3>
<ul class="list">
<?php get_links(-1, ‘<li>’, ‘</li>’, ‘ - ‘); ?>
</ul>

change it to

<h3><?php _e(’Links’); ?></h3>
<ul class="nolist">
<?php get_links(-1, ‘<li>’, ‘</li>’, ‘ - ‘); ?>
</ul>

as you can see the ul class applied to effect the bullet..this is of course did not work if using widget

-sidebar-drop
plz follow the step i just give Don above:)

@April
thanks again for checking it out april….cheers :wink:

May 10th 2008 at @4:34 pm

Hey Richie,

Thanks for the explanation! It’s working now, except the sidebar problem :(

I add the hack as you suggest to the style.css with no luck - I’m curious though, single.php is individual post page, right? the structure is similar to index.php - why would the sidebar dropped in single post but not in homepage?

I still working on it, though… I’ll comment here should any solution found.

Cheers!

May 10th 2008 at @8:23 pm

i am having a similar problem with the “nolist” also. i change the settings in the “sidebar” to “nolist” but now i have bullets all over my blog. i went through every theme file template but i cannot figure it out.

i still have my noobie hat on, screaming for help! :sad:

come again = “mata kitte kudasai”

May 11th 2008 at @9:36 pm

Zurui,

It’s like what Richie K said - it’s not working with widget - I hope it worked :P

You have to hack the sidebar.php and sidebar-right.php to get the plugin you want - there you can apply “no list” to any you want!

May 12th 2008 at @2:56 am

great theme but…. i have no comments on static pages… can u fix it?

May 12th 2008 at @4:46 pm

arigato!

i removed the bullets from the left banner. i hope to figure out how to use them only in certain areas.

i tried to upload a jpg to use as my banner but no luck. is this correct?:

<!–<a href=”"><img src=”/images/BTBanner2008.jpg” alt=”home” /> –>

i placed my image in different image folders but no luck. just a blank header. is there a certain size banner that i have to use?

any advise appreciated!

zu

May 12th 2008 at @9:52 pm

Zurui,

If your banner is uploaded to the zoxengen theme’s image folder, you should apply the correct path for it. Perhaps it’s not /images/BTBanner2008.jpg, but /wp-content/themes/zoxengen/images/BTBanner2008.jpg.

Just try OK?

Anyway, any solution to the dropped sidebar when post is viewed individually?

Thanks all!

May 13th 2008 at @10:56 pm

Sorry but how can i add comments to static pages? :neutral:

May 14th 2008 at @9:10 am

Pavliga,

You should activate commenting on your static page…

May 14th 2008 at @6:57 pm

Noobpreneur, it is active.

May 14th 2008 at @8:46 pm

I love this theme, though I have to learn how to use it to the maximum. I couldn’t change the default featured article image, came here again and I think I have got it when I read the comments ( Buffoons’) I will try it later. One more thing, the recent articles, feedback are showing not in the right bar but below on the left bar, the right bar looks a bit empty. I placed two ads on right bar, is it because of that?
P.S.: I am totally illiterate as far as designing or CSS is concerned. All I can do is some simple html tricks. So Richie, and all please answer my queries in as nontechnical terms as possible. thanks :smile:

May 14th 2008 at @11:59 pm

HO Ho Ho HO the whole site is topsy turvy. What I did was, to replace ebay ad at the second number with google image ad. It was working fine. After a while I activated the simple tag plugin and then I noticed that the featured image was splashed all over the right bar. Now I don’t know how this happened. This is the scene on the homepage. When I open an individual post the whole side bar( actually those two ads) has crashed :shock: So I think I am going to switch off the featured feature for a while till some of the learned people show me how to do it without messing with the look of the site.
UPDATE ( after 10 minutes): The ads are back! :???: So I am leaving them where they are. Was it because of simple tag?

May 15th 2008 at @9:47 am

I had a problem with the featured default picture .multiplying down the right side but it was because you need to have the exact size as the default picture then it works. You need to just delete the no-image.gif and upload one with the same size and rename it no-image.gif then it works fine. The theme is really nice and I created a linkback from youtube video
Damn Funny Sexy Crack Video to show off theme.

May 15th 2008 at @5:59 pm

Pavliga,

Ah, I see… I’ve tried to activate mine, and I experienced the same prob as you.

Perhaps you should do a hack in your page.php?

May 15th 2008 at @6:53 pm

Richie gave a solution.

but i can not paste it here - html is not allowed

May 15th 2008 at @7:19 pm

thanks, great theme

May 18th 2008 at @2:58 am

I have replaced the default picture with a nice graphic which gel with the theme of my writing. But I have got another problem, the template isn’t working in Internet Explorer. The right side bar has switched to down under on the left one in IE. I really want to keep this theme, but many readers still use IE. Any clues how to solve this?

May 19th 2008 at @2:58 pm

I like all the themes that you are produce.Nice and quality design.Thanks for giving it free.

May 19th 2008 at @7:11 pm

This theme is simply beautiful and it really what I am looking for now for one of my blog.

Thanks mate for the theme.

May 20th 2008 at @1:22 am

Still having some errors with the featured section. I ran Firebug and got the following errors on my blog (http://weblog.techdad.net):

gallery is not defined
http://weblog.techdad.net/wp-content/themes/zoxengen/js/jd.gallery.transitions.js
Line 4

this.fireEvent is not a function
http://weblog.techdad.net/wp-content/themes/zoxengen/js/jd.gallery.js
Line 229

Wondering if it is a conflict of plugins or if anyone could give me some advice. Also, I see some [gallery] tags that are related to my various lightbox implementations. I will try disabling that but I wonder if that could be causing issues.

Thanks (for anyone’s help)!

AWESOME theme but as stated I’m getting an error when using IE7
Line: 5
Chat: 1
Error: ‘gallery’ is undefined
code:0

Its got something to do with the Features Gallery as the Pictures and info are behind the sidebar. You mentioned deactivating a plugin which one??

May 21st 2008 at @11:42 pm

@magaman

I get that same error in IE as well. Using Firefox Firebug it is:

gallery is not defined
jd.gallery.transitions.js
Line 4

and

this.fireEvent is not a function
zoxengen/js/mootools.v1.11.js
Line 3

Thoughts? Conflicting plugins?

Magaman
May 22nd 2008 at @5:53 am

HTD, I’m not a coding expert so I got no clue, however I wonder if there is a way to put an “if” statement and have it not load the gallery if someone is using IE.

May 22nd 2008 at @6:02 am

The problem with the IF statement is, I would have to do it for ALL browsers since my issue is cross browser and cross platform. I’m thinking it is a conflict with another plugin so I will probably have to deactivate all of them and try them one by one (unless someone can step through my code).

-HTD

May 23rd 2008 at @12:51 pm

I finally found the conflicting plugin (for me). The problems came from the conflicts between jquery and prototype for Ajax. I saw 2 calls to jquery and 1 to prototype in my index source. I stepped through each plugin (first checking the plugin directories for renegade script calls) and deactivated them 1 by 1. The one that worked (meaning the plugin that when deactivated fixed my issues was “Optimize DB” at http://wordpress.designpraxis.at/ .

Ok I also did some trial and error, First Vipers Video Quick Tags doesn’t work well with the theme, second youtube videos were the reason I was having IE issues, once I removed the youtube videos from the main page posts it worked fine.
Sidenote IE sucks :sad: its always a browser giving me headaches with the site.

May 23rd 2008 at @11:54 pm

Just wanted to say thanks again to Richie for the awesome theme (s)… I look and look and never really find anything better…

Check out what I’ve done with it if you like….

I do wish I knew how to place a custom header and still have the blog name show up when doing trackbacks and such :eek:

May 24th 2008 at @7:19 am

Hi. I like this theme a lot. like it very much. after days and days of googling, this is the one I use now. Not only it’s so great but also it suits my need. But since I’m a newbie, I need some time to learn how to alter things here and there. I’m not sure if I can do what Buffoon did. But I think I’m great so far. Thanks to you. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see your new ones.

May 24th 2008 at @12:16 pm

it me again. I LOVE THE LAYOUT! :cool:

my site is slowly coming along (i welcome any feedback from the users here) but like some of the other posters, i have not figured out how to tweak the header.

i renamed the file, resized the image, but everything comes out funky when it is placed. does the layout allow for the image to take up the entire header area or are you only allowed to place the image on one side.

also, if i understand correctly, if i use widgets on the right sidebar, bullets will appear on my “list” of things posted? i tried typing “nolist” in the appropriate areas but all bullets were removed.

i tried to place widgets in the left sidebar and the sidebar dezzain sidebar items disappeared. only the widget showed up.

has anyone figure this stuff out? crying for help!

sincerely,

your noobiest newbie :oops:

Many thanks for your theme. :grin:

@My39net,

Best way to resolve is to step through the process of deactivating plugins one by one. That is how I found my conflicting plugin.

I am using Wordpress 2.5.1 with zoxengen theme

My new two blogs are a few days old
My Categories, and tags where working perfectly. Today I all of a sudden all my categories and tags just disappeared.

In my dash board it says
“You have 5 posts, 1 page, contained within 7 categories and 24 tags. ”

when I write my post I can seen the category list, I can select and publish the post. No error messages.

But when I access my live blog it does not show any categories and tags. All It shows is “No categories”

June 2nd 2008 at @10:27 pm

Ashirwad,

You probably already know this, but a good place to start is always looking back to any changes (plugins) you may have made recently… plugins are funny critters sometimes…

June 3rd 2008 at @4:51 am

Thank you for this theme! I installed it easily and it worked great - until I unwittingly stuffed it up in rather obtuse way.

This is for that one person out in the ether who may find themself in a similar pickle getting a “No input specified error.”

If you have an “About” page, whatever you do, don’t have an about.php script running in the same directory.

Changing permalink structure won’t help. Deactivating plugins won’t help. Your only salvation is renaming either the “About” section of your blog or renaming that offending script.

Thank you for all of the comments; they did help as I tried to find the smoking gun I held in my own hand. :eek:

June 6th 2008 at @12:29 am

I’ve been using this theme for a few weeks now and I love it. The one issue that I’d like to resolve is that there are no comments on PAGES.

I saw this issue discussed earlier in May and I’ve been hoping that the solution would be posted, but so far no one else has said anything. So … can I get some help with adding comments to my pages?

thanks!

June 6th 2008 at @12:43 am

Tricia,

Go to manage and then pages, if your using WP 2.5 scroll down and you will see the comments and pings tab. make sure they are checked although I don’t know why you would want comments on say your privacy policy page??

I like the color you changed it to,,, you should change your heayou only want the text to show though

Make sure you adsense acct number is plugged in all the right places as well

Take a look at mine for ideas… if your a liberal please be prepared :)

header to a clear background

June 6th 2008 at @2:22 am

My zoxengen theme has been working fine up until today. Suddenly the right side bar was taking up to 30 seconds or alot more, to load. Being new to blogging and thinking I did something wrong, I completely deleted and then re-installed wordpress. I did the same with the zoxengen theme. I currently have no other plugins etc. in use. Same thing happened. Even up to nearly two minutes to load. Then I went to zoxengen’s live demo - same problem there?!? Does this mean my site is somehow connected to his server and his server is slow, making my right sidebar load slow?!?!!? I am not a techie and appreciate any info - thanks.

June 6th 2008 at @2:53 am

Hi Boplaz,

My guess is it’s the featured article function. It doesn’t look like for your purposes you need it so I would disable it.

Go to admin, design, and then blog theme options. Make sure the “choose category” function is chosen in the drop down next to smooth gallery featured settings… that should make it go away and I’d bet a new bass boat that squares you away.

I never used it because it adds time to my work and while pretty, isn’t worth it to me…

I would also get rid of the 6 Light CMS for designers ad’s in your right sidebar as well, those are places for your ads…

Also I would make sure that you adsense code is plugged in to your theme to make sure those are YOUR adsense ads at the top…

also in the upper right your feed text runs long and into the body bar… you can change that in your themes editor… just go to header and look for the text that is there and change it.. make sure not to delete the on the ends…. be careful// :)

look at my site for ideas….. liberals beware :)

let me know if it works…

June 6th 2008 at @3:29 am

Hi Buffoon,

First, your site is awesome!!! I had no idea you could do all that you did with this theme. Second, I did everything that you mentioned but to no avail. Still as slow as molasses. Yours loads like mine used to?!?!?! By the way how did you change colors? Get the vid at the top and so on… Your site is incredible and I bookmarked it, which I do not normally do…thank you for your help in trying to find a resolution for this. Anything else I can try??

Boplaz

June 6th 2008 at @3:43 am

Try getting rid of your stumbleupon button… you can always put it back don’t worry.. it seems to hang up on that… If that doesn’t do it, put it back and take your picture out of your profile… depending on where your picture is “hosted” that could hang it up as well….. its all hit and miss sometimes… you said you have no plugins loaded right?

What did you patent with squidoo? I fooled around with it some, maybe I need to get my “squid” back active…

I’m a free lance web master, so if you ever wanted to go all out let me know… all the graphics are mine as well… I’m no Richie K though! :)

June 6th 2008 at @4:09 am

Well I tried everything and still same problem. I have no clue!!!!!! I wish I could afford you. I am a publican! I licensed a trademark to Seth Godin, who heads Squidoo, “GUTS” which later became the name for a kids show which I licensed to Viacom (did not get much of anything) but they made millions!

boplaz

June 6th 2008 at @4:15 am

Sounds like you need a new lawyer :)

Well you haven’t tried anything, remove everything from the side bar and put them back one at a time till it hangs again, then presto..

If after you remove everything and it goes back to defaults and it still hangs… hmm,, we’ll have to adjust fire

June 6th 2008 at @4:35 am

I think its your page rank button from displaypagerank.com

June 6th 2008 at @4:42 am

You got that right! Whew, you are giving me a workout as I am not techie at all. Took me a long time to find Stumbleupon. Now I am taking out everything and try again…..

June 6th 2008 at @4:44 am

LOL
remove them from your widgets panel… its easy…
I hope your not copying and pasting it all in by hand :eek:

June 6th 2008 at @4:53 am

:???: Yeah I was!!! BUT Good news! I found it. There were TWO, count em 2 alex page links - basically the same in subscribe.php. I removed one of them and voila now it works. Thank you so much!!! Would not have even known what to look for without your help!!!!!!

June 6th 2008 at @5:00 am

PS - Now how do I put a link to your site on my blog?

June 6th 2008 at @5:21 am

Well given the unashamed right wing nature of it, and your site a business site, its up to you… :cool:

Just go to your admin panel and manage your links… its easy… or just tell your friends you found a good poli blog…

Google is also useful when you want to figure something out…. there’s tons of resources out there…

you still have lots to do,,, make sure the adsense ads are yours and if your not going to run 125×125 ads in the side, get rid of this red things….

Might I also suggest Windows live writer… you can compose off line and then publish when your ready.. It will help you fix those formatting issues your having with your post…

Back up your site often…

June 6th 2008 at @5:50 am

Well I really have enjoyed your site. Have no9t had time to peruse it a whole lot yet but it is very cool. Went to manage, put in your link but I don’t see anything on my page? It also said to put in rss feed - did not see how to get from your site & image — Said something about blog rolls but I don’t see them either. Will take out the ads - maroon squares - , will search to find out how to backup a blog. I changed the adsense ads to mine - again whew - this old brain has learned alot in one day –

boplaz

June 6th 2008 at @6:06 am

Your blogroll or links is a widget called kinks I think

June 6th 2008 at @6:07 am

LINKS :???:

June 6th 2008 at @6:12 am

well I got it - sigh - everything else disappeared(page rank, stumbleon etc.) but that is it for me today - when I contact you again it will be through email. You have been great. If you ever get to Tarpon Springs Florida - get a free segway tour of up to five people, on me!!! Thanks again!

Boplaz

June 6th 2008 at @6:21 am

PS - I figured it out :roll: except the picture but your link is there

June 6th 2008 at @7:47 am

I’m near Ocala….. no problem…. it’s get’s easier///

June 8th 2008 at @10:30 am

Hey Buffoon thanks for your reply. I like what you’ve done with the theme. I’m Canadian so while I’m keeping an eye on your political race I don’t get offended by a site that leans one way or the other. :wink:

As for comments on Pages … there is no call to the comments.php in the page.php comments and ping are turned on all my pages, but since there’s no code to bring up the comment.php on a Page it will not show. I need to know how and where to put the call to comments.php so that I don’t break my page.

I don’t really want comments on all my pages, but I run a few blogrolls and I have pages set up with information on how to join the blogrolls and what codes and images people need to put on their sites if they want to participate. Having comments on the page makes it easier for people to let me know that they want to be part of such and such a blogroll. One of my blogroll pages had over 500 comments! They certainly aren’t showing now.

I do have my adsense account number plugged into the right places, but I don’t show adsense on my main page.

You said I should clear the header background so the text will show through? I’m not sure what you mean. I’m using an image for my page title .. although I’d like to figure out how to increase the top header height so I could put my old header image on the page.

Thanks for your help!

Boplaz - keep on working on your site. You load time was fine when I visited it this evening.

If you wrap your text around your images your posts will look a lot better. One simple way to do this is to add your images to your post and then click on the “code” mode button near the top of the post writing area. Then look at the code for the image you’ve added. Right be side the word img in the image code you can make a space and then add align=”left” or align=”right” and add another space and then when you look at your post in visual mode (which I’m guessing you write in most often) your text should wrap around the photos.

While in your wordpress admin area if you go to presentation you’ll see a tab called “using the theme” you’ll find other image alignment codes and even code to add if you want a caption under your photos. It shows you where to put the code in the image tag. For example the theme is set up to use class=”alignleft” or class=”alignright” rather than what I mentioned above. Check out that page - it will help! :)

June 8th 2008 at @11:12 am

First regarding your header.. I was only mentioning that the text graphic you use should have a clear background instead of white because you can see the white part and it “looks quirky”.. I just screwed around with the size on mine until I found one that didn’t throw my wrapping out of whack.. I think mine is 600×74? so maybe your old one can be used?

You seem to know a good deal so forgive me if I’m redundant, but to get comments turned on in a page, go to Manage > pages> choose the page> then scroll down to comments and pings and check the allow comments block…am I off track?

:smile:

June 9th 2008 at @7:51 pm

Thanks Tricia and Buffoon for all of your help. I am finally starting to get somewhere. Blogging is all totally new to me. Though I have done web sites before — this blogging stuff is different, and as soon as I get to understand it better, much easier I believe.

hi!

wp-grins plugin will not work if the jslide featured articles are active. If you want to used the wp-grins, you can choose to turn off the featured article by selecting the “choose a category” and save the theme options or simply reset the options

i did that, but don´t work jslide featured articles when a i turn off wp-grins. :sad: why?

June 27th 2008 at @9:16 pm

Buffoon,
I just found that one plugin caused my problem. It called (Front Page Categories). the problem happened after Active the plugin because i used Wordpress 2.5 but the plugin only compatible with 2.3. I just Inactive the plugin and every thing solved. :!:

Already install in my web, but have two question :
1. The web, have a font Times New Roman. How to change it like in a preview?

2. How to change the red color become Blue example?

thx.

July 2nd 2008 at @12:13 pm

i have exactly the same problem with denis.
no matter what font i choose, what comes out on preview is always times new roman.
what happens? :?:

July 2nd 2008 at @12:30 pm

Are you going to design | Blog theme options | then fiddli9ng with the | Blog CSS Settings?

July 2nd 2008 at @12:34 pm

@buffon :

not to try the design with my self.

I have already download the zoxengen file and after i upload it, and change theme from classic into zoxengen, the font with its self become Times New Roman.

Where i must change it?

second question :

The zoxengen came with the red color. can i change into blue for example? if yes, where should i modify the code?

thx.

Anyway, right now, i’m using the box theme

Steven
July 3rd 2008 at @7:15 pm

Everything works great until I tried to access the website using IE7

Line: 5
Char: 1
Error: ‘gallery’ is undefined’
Code: 0

Seems like its a common problem which no one have managed to resolve yet. Would appreciate if someone can solve it.

P/S: I still see that error in your website, Buffon.

July 3rd 2008 at @9:48 pm

Denis - In your wordpress control panel go to - Design then Blog theme options then Blog CSS Settings - that’s where you can toggle back and forth between many font variations, fiddle around with them until you find one you like…..

Steven - what error?

July 3rd 2008 at @9:53 pm

Oh Yeah Denis - changing “colors” is a simple matter of manipulating the supplied graphics located in a folder called images within the theme…
Then once you’ve changed it locally, upload that file to the theme on your server// make sense? If your not comfortable with such things I would leave it alone… always remember to back up before you do anything!

Steven
July 3rd 2008 at @11:59 pm

@Buffoon: The same gallery error that I am getting.

I am just cracking my head over how to get the myavatars working on my blog now.

July 4th 2008 at @9:30 am

thx buffon.. it works.

About the images, i’ll try it

July 4th 2008 at @4:44 pm

Thank you for a nice design.

3 questions:
1. Are you saying if we pay you $ 20.50 you’ll send a link with more files and you will help us tweak? I love the design and you can see it at: http://www.v1-p.com/hellogod/

2. Was I suppose to add my email in the section marked
sidebar-right.php and if so was I suppose to just put the info@v1-p.com or use more tags?

3. Some of the text overlaps on the sidebar button, can that be fixed?

4. When you go to some of my added categories like Heaven’s Gate how can I make it like the drop down menu named A Journey To Find? I want a drop down menu with a list of videos where the viewer can select the video they want.

Thanks,
v1-p

Hi,

Love the theme thanks a bunch I’ve been looking for something for my site for ages and I think this one is exactly what I’ve searching for.

One question how do I change the text that displays in my tags in search engines :?:
When I do a search of

site:www.mysite.com/tag/

I get the results as:

Tag | My Site
zexengen - Unique Custom Technology And Software Wordpress Theme With Theme Option.

I have set up the Tag slugs but this doesn’t seem to be fixing the problem.

Thanks in advance :cool:

July 16th 2008 at @6:49 pm

Hi, I’ve been using the Zoxengen theme for two days now. I have been modifying it with a fair amount of success.

I would like to ask on how can I put the PayPerPost PPT Tools code into the theme?

Here’s the instruction from the PayPerPost site…

The most important thing to consider when trying to add this feature to your blog is you must have the ability to add a line of code to your blog’s html. This means you need to be able to ftp your file to your site or have the ability to modify your code through the blog administration. Such as WordPress’s Presentation Theme Editor

“To install, you must open the code and find the tag. On the line right before this tag, add the following:

()

Please be aware that the code must be on one line… do not add anything additional to the snippet.”

I just don’t know what php script should I put this on… I hope somebody could help…

Here’s my blog - http://pinoyapostolic.net63.net

Thanks for this wonderful Wordpress Theme!

$comment->comment_type != “pingback” && !ereg(”", $comment->comment_content) && !ereg(”", blah blah

First of all hello to all users of this theme and to the coder!
I like the style here and hope becoming a new happy user.
The Zoxengen is a very nice theme I have just installed to start my blog.
I am not sure if it is here I can here ask some question on how to come out of the install problem? Anyway, here it is kind of message I love :shock: :

Warning: cannot yet handle MBCS in html_entity_decode()! in /home.29/b/r/y/brygidaw/www/blog/wp-content/plugins/wp-postratings/wp-postratings.php on line 637

I deactivated the plugin but the message is still on the page…
Could someone tell me how to fix it? :grin:

Hey I love this theme :!: But the only issue i do have is that when I add the ajax coment preview it does not fit to it and it gets cut off where the end of the post is…. So I was wondering if there was and where would i find a place to edit it so that the themes sidebars are stretched out more to the right. Also please let me know if this will break the theme….. Thanks in advance

Dear brygida :

Try to help you.

If you want to get rid of Google Adsense, just log in into you wp-admin, go to Design, and choose Theme Design.

Choose the Main Index template, and search into the file, about the google adsense.

If you want to manage the sponsored, just go to advertisement.php. In here, you can put all of your sponsored.

Hope it can help you.

I am testing it out, WP 2.5.1 and the featured article images do not load, just a remaining black box.

Is this a 2.5 issue? I did follow the custom field instructions. I think I’d like to purchase this if sure that this feature will work.

I was having the same problem. I had to Deactivate WP Grins A Clickable Smilies hack for WordPress. By Alex King.

I hope this helps somebody else.

Thanks for this theme. I have a couple of questions;

1. How do I change the color of the background for the featured articles text, you know, the transparent part over the bottom of the picture?

2. Where do I put the images for the smooth gallery, and what do I name them for them to show up in the gallery. How do I link the images to each post?

3. How can I show the smooth gallery only on the home page?

Thanks, great theme!

Kathy
September 8th 2008 at @8:04 pm

OK, I answered 2 of my questions myself. :smile:

The background color is in the jd.gallery.css file.

I made a home.php file by copying the index.php file. I left the PHP call for featured.php in the home.php file, and removed it from all the other pages. That left me with a home page showing the smooth gallery, and not showing on the other pages.

But I’m still confused about the images for the gallery. Where do I file them, how do I name them, how are the images associated with the posts?

Now, how would I change the size of the image display?
For example, instead of 440 by 200, what if I want 440 by 300? I can find the dimensions in the js file, but is there somewhere in the html that changes would need to be made?

Never mind i found it int he post above i should read more first

October 4th 2008 at @8:12 am

On my front page I have post excerpts with ‘read more’. When you click ‘read more’ the page shows up about a fourth of the way down the page. I checked out some of the sites in the comments here and all but one does the same thing. All except Buffoon’s site. This is the only problem I’m having and I love this theme. Anyone know why it does this?
Thanks

:mrgreen:
Elizabeth, I’m a theme junkie and not currently using this theme, but the reason it does that is because it starts at the point you left off reading.
There’s nothing wrong, its supposed to do that…. why make the reader read what they’ve already read?

Yeah I tried it already, it didnt work, so I was just wondering if there is something I should try to make it work…. Yeahhhh I already tried it. Anywho, I have another question, I have tried a couple of plugins that are slimbox or lightbox and other similar ones, and it would not work with my site. I have tried more than one of these similar plugins, but I just had no luck with any of them, so I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or if there are known issues with this maybe? :?: ? Thanks for the help

I purchased the Commercial Zoxengen but I dont find anywhere any instructions or tutorials. Can anybody point me in the right directions. I can read the posts here but for example above you talk about changing this Featured.php:

have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post(); $do_not_duplicate = $post->ID; ?>

to this

have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post(); $do_not_duplicate = $post->ID; ?>

BUT i have no idea what or where:

(’cat=62,49&showposts=6?); while

This statement means ? where do u find (’cat=62,49&showposts=6?) obviously its not the same for everyone.

It would be nice to have instructions like this:

explaining the basic code and the way it might be customized or changed in common ways..
Another example is if i change my own ad to a photo ad and i wanted a external page to open for somebody to open a external web page i cant just use standard HTML code there as it makes reference to:

Hi, I started using this great theme a couple days ago. Today I tried switching out of one of the featured videos (the first one) and it doesn’t play live. I’ve tried different videos so I know it’s not the videos themselves. Perhaps it’s the code…? It’s the same problem in Firefox and Safari.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

October 11th 2008 at @2:19 am

Lavrai.
Sometimes that happens to me no matter what theme I’m using and it happened when I used this one form time to time… closing my browser and dumping the cache usually fixed it… if not,,, dunno….

October 11th 2008 at @11:06 pm

Thanks, Buffoon.

October 12th 2008 at @12:40 am

Lav,
So I assume it worked?

October 12th 2008 at @4:43 am

@Lavrai, sometimes it isn’t the problem of the theme!

Buffoon, can you solve this problem? On the left sidebar, I want to rearrange the categories. I have: Pages, Blogcarnival, Blogroll, Product Reviews.
I want Product Reviews to be listed first. I rearranged the categories before, so I know it can be done, but I can’t find how I did it. I looked in theme editor at all the templates including sidebar.php several times.

Thanks

October 26th 2008 at @2:09 am

Elisabeth,
that should be a simple matter of re-arranging them by going to design, then widgets, not your theme editor…

let me know if this helped :wink:

Hi Richie!

Absolutely fantastic theme - I’m sure the compliments aren’t drying up anytime soon. Thanks so much, its such a pleasure to come across a theme that does almost everything you need.

I have one question regarding the Featured Articles.
How do I customise the colour of the maroon box holding the text?

October 29th 2008 at @11:14 pm

due to the love on box-tube, never had a time to try this one out, maybe now is the time to have this place on my new blog.

November 1st 2008 at @2:56 pm

Great theme. Thanks for giving it for free. Great work. :smile:

November 2nd 2008 at @9:25 am

Can someone PLEASE help me remove the right-most sidebar without leaving a huge space in it’s place?

I love this theme, but I only want 2 column.

HI Richie,

Must say, the theme is really the coolest one. However its does not work with Internet explorer. It loads with error and does not display the page. Though with firefox, it works fine.

Any idea how to fix it to get it work with internet explorer also.

Regards
Amik

Amik,

Rule number one when a browser is acting screwy, make sure you have the latest version, close it and dump all your cache… works most of the time,

November 4th 2008 at @10:49 pm

Thnaks a lot.

November 10th 2008 at @6:33 pm

I really like this theme , and have downloaded it already- why shouldn’t I?.For some reason, I can’t really use it yet because I actually need help to tweak the jslide. The current one only allows us to rotate featured articles from our own blogs pegged against the categories.

Thank, Richie,Absolutely fantastic theme - I’m sure the compliments aren’t drying up anytime soon. Thanks so much, its such a pleasure to come across a theme that does almost everything you need.How easy is it to customise the maroon bar with the menu’s?

How do i change the header in top left (title of website that is a link) to my own custom header jpg that I create?

December 4th 2008 at @12:39 pm

Matt

Try a few of these links and they should give you an idea of what you need to do. I included a few because header code is rarely identical, when all else fails, search the wordpress site or google :grin:

Another question to go along with my other. How do I customize a single page to have no sidebars. I am installing a forum, and it asks to find so i can alter somethings, but I can’t seem to find it. Is it classified as another term.

thanks again

December 14th 2008 at @10:43 pm

December 14th 2008 at @11:59 pm

How can I show subcategories under the parent category, and indented.

December 17th 2008 at @12:35 am

Great theme

How would I go about changing the red category bars to a different color?

PLEASE HELP

Thank you

December 17th 2008 at @11:45 pm

@kathy.
if you know can you also ping me up, i also wonder the same thing

December 18th 2008 at @7:31 am

Go to Presentation -> Widgets in the Admin Panel. Next to the Categories item click the box that looks like a menu - in the dialogue that pops up make sure “show hierarchy” is checked.

To change the category bars to a different color, you need to open up the images and modify them in an image program. Then you will need to modify the stylesheet colors to match.

Hello guys
i used this fabulous theme since two months: it’s excellent (thanks for all )

but the smooth gallery doesn’t works when i just modified the featured.php file for the custom fields with “a-la-une-image” instead of “featured-image” as field ( the gallery image is all black).

thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english, i am french…

one of the best theme i ever use, just finished upload into my
site and it is wonderful i must say

thanks richie, kipit up :grin:

January 8th 2009 at @6:00 am

Great theme! I just loaded it and worked through the options/settings. I get most everything to work but these:

(1) Smoothgallery - It’s pulling every post, not just those in the category set as featured post, and with the number limit.

(2) IE - I normally use Firefox, but when I switch over to IE to see what it looks like, the side bars go all whacky - the gallery shows everything.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Hey does anyone know how to move down the “banner” ad? I added it to my blog (like on the live preview) and I get this

As you can see the red bar is up right under the “Ads by Google” on the silver bar. I’m looking to move the red bar a few lines down so that it’s under the gray shadow of the silver bar (where the Google ads are). I haven’t done much coding in PHP so I’m not sure what to put… I know in HTML you could use
but not sure what the PHP equivalent is.
