I downloaded your Box tube theme and its great. im using it now on my site. The free version Zoxengen…. does not include the xhtml and cSS file is that what you mean? So the theme is connecting to an external file to your web server? is that what you mean. as i understand the 2 files are only available for the paid version.

Thank you for the free themes…

April 28th 2008 at @5:55 pm

thanks edwin, its great you like the boxtube theme
:mrgreen:

basically the zoxengen theme had an option for you to purchase and download an upgrade version of the original free version theme.

this is of course is not necessary since the theme is still consider as free theme…hehe

not much changes in upgrade(paid) version except i include the xhtml/css files and psd files inside the paid download so any user can edit or modify their theme, it is also for learning curve since the xhtml/css are in good condition without having you to save an already content based page as html and having to edit the theme with all the link code inner..if you know what i mean..
:grin:

with the upgrade version, simply open the theme and open the xhtml inside and start edit the style..with the psd(unrasterize)..you can change almost everything in header and the sidebar header color/style

hope that bring up the light in ‘what is the upgrade version?’

i like your design…actually I have software download site and still under development…I need a professional web designer to handle it. I’m also planning to get 1 personalize wordpress theme.. Where to contact you to discuss it in email?

April 30th 2008 at @4:56 pm

I like this theme, and have downloaded it. Can’t really use it yet because I actually need help to tweak the jslide. The current one only allows us to rotate featured articles from our own blogs pegged against the categories.

I have sent you an email.

Probably my favourite wordpress theme. :cool:

Thanks!

May 3rd 2008 at @10:24 am

I love this theme! :grin:

One thing is it possible to set the featured gallery to pull from multiple categories?

May 4th 2008 at @4:29 am

sry for the late reply guys:)

@Edwin
sry dude…i’m currently still tide on couple of work and also personal
development that will be coming up in next month…

Ed
yes..Ed i did received your email…as for your question, i don’t think its possible since the featured articles was control by wp_query of the actual site category, if you said you wanted to group a category from other sites..i really did not how….similiar question come up in my contact email last couple of days…
:smile:

George
thanks george..and yes i got your email from contact….again sorry, as i mention above to Edwin, i’m still tight on scheduel :wink: although your idea on your own site in email are really interesting….might booked sometime in next month for you..no promised tho…cheers

KW Choong
heya Kw, i see..did you turn off or deactivate the plugin and try again..because i did not see any problems in my test site with ie7..tested locally with wp 2.5 in ie7 also come up error less, it must had conflicted with plugins in your instalation but still it is unlikely the theme will cause this error, please check if(maybe) your wordpress version problem..what version are you using….i personally didn’t test the theme under wp 2.1 yet..

peace:)

thanks man

open featured.php and find this following line

<?php $my_query = new WP_Query(’category_name=’. $tn_zen_featured_category . ‘&’ . ’showposts=’. $tn_zen_featured_sum); while ($my_query->have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post(); $do_not_duplicate = $post->ID; ?>

change it to

<?php /*this had been added*/ $my_query = new WP_Query(’cat=62,49&showposts=6′); while ($my_query->have_posts()) : $my_query->the_post(); $do_not_duplicate = $post->ID; ?>

as you can see the new WP_Query with your cat_id but you need to insert your own cat id there like

new WP_Query(’cat=1,2,44,55,66,77,88,22,49&showposts=6′);

the cat list can as long as you want and also show how many post also can be altered

by using this method, you can ignore the theme option for featured control..it will not effect the theme usuability

hope that’s help

:smile:

Looks great. I want to use it on one of my blogs, but I have a small problem.

The desktop blogging client where I write my posts, Windows Live Writer, doesn’t retrieve the theme correctly. The red bar from above the post shows up in the text area. Can anything be done about it by any chance?

Hi
Great work!

How do I change the logo or place a custom image header instead of the text?

May 7th 2008 at @9:24 am

I love the new design. I am extremely new to the blogging world and pretty clueless, yet I’ve been able to get my site up and running with your great theme.

My only question so far is, once I switched to your theme, I lost my blog roll. How do I get it back?

Keep it simple, don’t forget I’m a newbie!

I am testing it out, WP 2.5.1 and the featured article images do not load, just a remaining black box.

Is this a 2.5 issue? I did follow the custom field instructions. I think I’d like to purchase this if sure that this feature will work.

May 8th 2008 at @3:39 pm

Great theme!

How can you put ads in the 6 spaces tho? I can’t seem to find out how.

:?: also how do you change the picture in the featured article spot?

Againreally nice theme better than the one I had before-just plugged it in today.

May 8th 2008 at @7:48 pm

DON:

The ad code ’spaces’ are located in the sidebar-right.php, paste your ad code into the space replacing the line of text there now. you can’t miss it, its’ six identical lines one on top of eachother

The featured article spot I only change once in awhile, ftp a new image, sized 465×250 to replace the existing on called no-image into the mages folder…

There is a plug in to have them rotate out there I think,,,

NOW if anyone knows how to replace the header text with my custom image let me know

May 9th 2008 at @2:55 am

Very cool theme, thank you! :cool:

May 9th 2008 at @5:43 am

Definitely a conflict with 2.5.1

I installed it twice on 2.5.1 - no go with the featured articles.
Twice on 2.3.3 - all works.

Hope an update is released - it would most likely persuade people to pay for this theme.

Thanks Buffoon ,

I did the ads and will check out the image next–somehow My whole sites work got screwed something to do with my hosting servers-changeover-switching something-changing ns-will have to redo two days of hard work nd upload theme again—–crazy! Wish I could help you with the header but can’t-maybe someone will come up with the answer soon!

Richard–sounds bad about the wp 2.5 problem hope that gets fixed soon

May 9th 2008 at @8:31 pm

Hi Richie,

Great WP theme - one of the best theme out there! As soon as I know it’s released, I used it in my blog. I’m still tweaking it right now.

That being said, I have a noob question here - in your using theme guide, you mention about sidebar class list and nolist - whilst I know what you mean, I can’t simply use nolist to eliminate the bullet from my image pic at my blog’s sidebar.

Where should I make the change? I did it in sidebar.php and sidebar-right.php with no luck.

Please advice :)

@realityshow - read the ‘using theme’ guide in your WP presentation tab - u have to use featured-images in custom fields in order for your image to be displayed in the wonderful jslide.

Cheers!

May 10th 2008 at @1:24 am

I more problem found - When I view individual post, My sidebar dropped below - any suggestions?

I’m thinking about tweaking the width - no luck so far…

May 10th 2008 at @8:07 am

I have the theme running on 2.5.1 and on the beta 2.6 works on both for me, including the features. And I paid for it! :mrgreen:

May 10th 2008 at @11:30 am

@realityshow

did you follow each step on the theme option > using themes?
it used featured-images for custom field value
you need to add this step when posting your post for it to show up as custom meta images
so it will auto rotate your featured category custom image and title etc.. :grin:

@David cheong

thanks man, drop by again ok

@alex
not sure..i haven’t experience that media yet..will look into that later

@Buffon
check header.php and find this line

<!–<a href="<?php echo get_settings(’home’); ?>"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/logo.gif" alt="home" /></a> –>

uncommet it and delete the bottom <h1></h1><p></p>

change the bold text to your image name (yourimage.jpg/gif/png) in images folder

@Pavan Kumar
thanks pavan
maybe i should make a newer and fresher design for the site soon….hint: hint:

@mingming
sry man, i can’t read it lol

@Shannon
yeap…i think i missed the blogroll link in non widgetize field
please follow this step to add the blogroll into it…of coz if you using widget…i think it had the blogroll
widget to used..anyway

open sidebar or sidebar-right.php and add this line on top of <h3>meta</h3> if using sidebar.php

<h3><?php _e(’Links’); ?></h3>
<ul class="list">
<?php get_links(-1, ‘<li>’, ‘</li>’, ‘ - ‘); ?>
</ul>

that should add the blogroll into it

@barry
thanks man, just check the ej log and yeap i got your order in between…just email me on the email
provided if any problems comes up ok

@Richard
it maybe conflict with plugins…try disable couple of plugins and try it again ok and also follow the step in theme usage.
re-round the step again if anything missed:)
i tested in latest version of wp 2.5.1 and 2.3-2.5……it works fine:)

@Don
heya don…you can follow the instruction about custom field in theme option > theme usage

- ads placment
open sidebar-right.php and replace the images in advertisment block with your images copy into the images/root folder or banner and copy paste your img name to the area

if using images folder root
<a href="#"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/myimg.ext" alt="sample" /></a>

if using images/banner folder root
<a href="#"><img src="<?php bloginfo(’template_directory’); ?>/images/banner/myimg.ext" alt="sample" /></a>

- sidebar-drop
this may be cause bt overflow of the sidebar are…..the fixed was 160px and 250px for right sidebar

try out this step to hack it:)
open style.css and find this line and add as follow

#sidebar-left {
padding: 5px 5px 10px;
float: left;
width: 175px;
background: #F9F9F9;
border: 1px solid #eeeeee;
margin: 0px;
overflow: hidden;
}
#sidebar-right {
padding: 5px 0px 5px 5px;
width: 260px;
float: left;
overflow: hidden;
}

let me know how its go ok

@Rolando
thanks rolando, drop in anytime ok:)

@zurui
thanks..now how to say come again in japanese?..hehe

@Noobpreneur
yeap….the classed list is just an optional step for user to manipulate his/her theme
it work like this, if you have a sidebar list

<h3><?php _e(’Links’); ?></h3>
<ul class="list">
<?php get_links(-1, ‘<li>’, ‘</li>’, ‘ - ‘); ?>
</ul>

change it to

<h3><?php _e(’Links’); ?></h3>
<ul class="nolist">
<?php get_links(-1, ‘<li>’, ‘</li>’, ‘ - ‘); ?>
</ul>

as you can see the ul class applied to effect the bullet..this is of course did not work if using widget

-sidebar-drop
plz follow the step i just give Don above:)

@April
thanks again for checking it out april….cheers :wink:

May 10th 2008 at @4:34 pm

Hey Richie,

Thanks for the explanation! It’s working now, except the sidebar problem :(

I add the hack as you suggest to the style.css with no luck - I’m curious though, single.php is individual post page, right? the structure is similar to index.php - why would the sidebar dropped in single post but not in homepage?

I still working on it, though… I’ll comment here should any solution found.

Cheers!

May 10th 2008 at @8:23 pm

i am having a similar problem with the “nolist” also. i change the settings in the “sidebar” to “nolist” but now i have bullets all over my blog. i went through every theme file template but i cannot figure it out.

i still have my noobie hat on, screaming for help! :sad:

come again = “mata kitte kudasai”

May 11th 2008 at @9:36 pm

Zurui,

It’s like what Richie K said - it’s not working with widget - I hope it worked :P

You have to hack the sidebar.php and sidebar-right.php to get the plugin you want - there you can apply “no list” to any you want!

May 12th 2008 at @2:56 am

great theme but…. i have no comments on static pages… can u fix it?

May 12th 2008 at @4:46 pm

arigato!

i removed the bullets from the left banner. i hope to figure out how to use them only in certain areas.

i tried to upload a jpg to use as my banner but no luck. is this correct?:

<!–<a href=”"><img src=”/images/BTBanner2008.jpg” alt=”home” /> –>

i placed my image in different image folders but no luck. just a blank header. is there a certain size banner that i have to use?

any advise appreciated!

zu

May 12th 2008 at @9:52 pm

Zurui,

If your banner is uploaded to the zoxengen theme’s image folder, you should apply the correct path for it. Perhaps it’s not /images/BTBanner2008.jpg, but /wp-content/themes/zoxengen/images/BTBanner2008.jpg.

Just try OK?

Anyway, any solution to the dropped sidebar when post is viewed individually?

Thanks all!

May 13th 2008 at @10:56 pm

Sorry but how can i add comments to static pages? :neutral:

May 14th 2008 at @9:10 am

Pavliga,

You should activate commenting on your static page…
