  4. Regarding Freehostingnoads.net: I have NEVER seen a web service which SUCKED as much as this one.

    1) It was pure frustration trying to register with them. Their captcha-like verification scheme puts up text for the user to re-enter which is totally ineligible. It is like some weird graffiti tags with splotches of ink all over it. It took me 13 tries to finally get one that was marginally readable.

    2) Once you get in, it gets worse. They send you a Client Sign Up Confirmation email, which when you click on the link provided takes you to a page with a Login button and an error message in the corner that says to check for your confirmation email and click on the link provided (like I just did).

    3) If you just click on the Login button anyway it takes you to a page that shows your login details and contact info and then if you click on one of the tabs on this page it just takes you to a page that says you are not logged in.

    4) Finally, if you click the Logout button and then log in again it just starts the whole exercise in futility again.

The people who set up Freehostingnoads.net must be either complete idiots or some sort of evil geniuses. In any event they certainly don’t know how to run a business.

  6. Wix is NOT ad free. Every page on a Wix-hosted site is branded three times: with a drop-down in the upper right corner, again in the footer, and with an ugly, half-inch deep BAR that runs across the bottom of the browser field. It’s fairly obnoxious, in all honesty. Sometimes you can finesse your way out of having to keep the site-footer link. But, the other two — the truly obvious ones that actual interfere with how the page is laid out and viewed — can only be removed by upgrading to a paid site.

If you link to your FB, and your FB account is ever locked/deleted for some reason… the entire Wix web page you’ve built disappears with it. They tell you this, but you have to actually read over everything to find that out. The servers “hiccup” — or are down entirely — on a disturbingly regular basis and tech support is rude, quick to blame the site owner for any and every problem that crops up that isn’t a full server crash. Even with paid business accounts.

They will also delete your account without preamble or warning if you’re unable to log in “frequently enough” due to repeated server downtime and log-in failures.

Elements crash regularly, as does the editor, itself. Script breaks frequently, as well. All one need do is check their FB page to find dozens of complaints and reports lodged daily — many from paying customers. They’re a nightmare to deal with.

    • Yep, wix is NOT ad free at ALL. Their domain hosting is the worst i’ve ever experienced and monthly $ is overpriced. Their web creation service is AWESOME though.
