The best theme there is if you need a theme that works well with BuddyPress. Especially if you need widgets exclusively for the BP-pages. Highly recommended.

I’ve used this theme for a Faq site. Perfect. An now on a new Forum website underco. with bbPress. No problem, no troubles. We’ve done some work in php for our needs, and the child-theme works.
OK with any new version of WordPress, and so with the theme.
So, 5 star 🙂

  1. I am really lovin’ the mesocolumn theme. I have my blog set up magazine style, but there are TWO things I cannot seem to figure out.

    1. I set the footer with the credit to mesocolumn theme by Dezzain, but I cannot edit the footer with my own copyright information. Without an additional plugin, is there a way to do this?

    2. I have changed all the colors on the site to what I want, but I cannot seem to figure out how to change the color of the underlines under that categories on the main menu. You can see this on the site, newworldorbit.com. I’d really like the underlines to match those of the text and underlines under the categories.

    • 1. add this functions.php

      remove_action('bp_footer_left','meso_add_footer_left_item');
      function meso_custom_footer_left() {
      echo '--your own text etc here--';
      }
      add_action('bp_footer_left','meso_custom_footer_left');

      • Hey Richie:
        Thanks for the quick response.

        I edited the functions.php file per your instruction, and it made no difference, the footer appears exactly the same as it did before. I checked on IE as well as Firefox. In Firefox I checked “inspect element” on the footer and the copyright was in the code just as was the default.

        I tried everything I could with the color of those underlines and couldn’t change them. While the page now looks the way I want it, I think I probably didn’t set this up correctly. In any case, I just did away with that menu altogether. I would have preferred to keep it if I could have changed the color of the underlines, but I can also live without that menu.

        Thank you for your help.

        • it work in my end, did you copy paste the code into functions.php most bottom before end ?>
          did you save the colors for pages or category that you set in custom menu->location->primary? by default it use light blue if no color is saved.

          Member of DEZZAIN.COMAdministratorit work in my end, did you copy paste the code into functions.php most bottom before end ?> did you save the colors for pages or category that you set in custom menu->location->primary? by default it use light blue if no color is saved.
          • No, I pasted the code after the ?>

            I’m not a programmer, I didn’t know to do that. So I tried putting the code between

            add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘meso_load_child_style’,99 );
            and
            ?>

            And nothing changes.

            As far as the colors, in Customize>Menus> under Menu Locations is has Menu 1 marked as Primary Menu, and under Menu 1 the Display Menu it has Primary Menu checked.

            But nowhere do I see a place to chose colors, like I found with other elements in appearance.

            I really appreciate this help. If you want I’ll paste in the whole of functions.php and you can see if I’ve got it right.

          • yes, add them after add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘meso_load_child_style’,99 );

            add this

            function meso_remove_footer_left_init() {
            remove_action('bp_footer_left','meso_add_footer_left_item');
            }

            }
            add_action('bp_footer_left','meso_custom_footer_left');

            color setting is on their own page setting like if you want to add color to ‘category1’ go to post->category->your category->edit color, same goes with pages in edit pages.

          • I tried that and it had no effect. Here is my entire functions.php file:

            When it works I will of course edit in my copyright info.

            As for the colors, it isn’t a category or post, it’s a menu. I put it back on the front page, see how the underlines are the default blue?

            I’ve changed all the other colors on the page but right below the header, Dispatches From Orbit and News & Opinion have the default blue underlines. I want them dark, like the dark blue on the rest of the page.

    1. I’d like to know if it’s possible to change the widht of the template’s body.
    It’s full width by default but I’d like to change it as fixed at 1192px
    is there anyway to do it? If yes, how?

    2. My post preview/featured picture doesn’t display into the post but it displays just into the category’s list
    Is there a way or a snippet of code to include to show the featured image into a post?

    Waiting for your reply if you send me by mail too. Thanks a lot!

      • afraid you can’t, the reason there’s a mobile menu for custom menu is for a new set of menu for mobile. to use the old version of dropdown menu for both top and primary in mobile. check the faq #3 in theme page bottom.
