Wake Up Earlier
We’re going to discuss some tips that require you to have a little extra time to get them done. Waking up early is a great way to start your day, as it allows you to have space for yourself instead of jumping right into the tasks ahead of you. Quality rest is important, so set your alarm a little earlier and get to bed at a decent hour to accommodate your new schedule. Waking up one hour earlier should give you plenty of extra time.
Eat a Nutritious Breakfast
When we’re sleeping, our body is fasting, and it’s important to fuel it again once you wake up. While it may be tempting to grab a pastry or pour a bowl of sugary cereal, you want to avoid processed foods high in sugar. Instead, opt for a nutritious breakfast to give you the energy and fuel you need to kickstart your day. Avocado toast, sugar-free granola, and eggs with an English muffin are optimal breakfast options.
Journal It Out
Consider how many thoughts pop into your head when you wake up. “I need to get that report done first thing,” or “I need to check my e-mail to see if the meeting is still on for this afternoon.” Our minds are usually racing with everything we must do that day. Yet, it’s important to use your morning time to reflect on your feelings and not just what the day ahead holds. Journaling is an effective way to release some of your worries and fears. Try and allocate at least 5 minutes to write down your thoughts and feelings.
Move Your Body
Exercising at any point in the day will help with your overall well-being. However, research shows that working out in the morning is the optimal time. When you start your day with exercising, you’ll boost your metabolism first, make healthier choices throughout the day, and start the day with mental clarity and peace.
Spend Time Outside
If you work at a desk job or a career that keeps you inside, it’s important that you use your time in the morning to get out in nature. Nature is a natural remedy to help relieve stress, increase focus, and promote positivity and happiness. If you spend at least 10 minutes outside each morning, you’re sure to reap the positive healing benefits of nature almost immediately.
